Would create a large-scale commercial breeding kennel license and will enact annual inspections and standards of care and housing. See MHS video.

SB 424 - introduced June 9, 2011
Would end the use of gas chambers to kill pets in Michigan shelters and end the selling of shelter pets to Class-B dealers who broker lost pets to experimental research laboratories.

Call your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT SB 423 and 424!

HB 4714 - introduced June 7, 2011
Would ban the lawful ownership of a breed of dog - or any "similar looking" breed of dog - in Michigan.
Position: Oppose!
Call your state representative and ask them to OPPOSE HB 4714!

Position: Support!
Strengthens dog fighting penalties by prosecuting dogfighters under racketeering laws, meaning longer prison times and higher fines for those convicted and allowing for the seizure and forfeiture of property associated with dogfighting venues.

Position: Oppose!
Would allow the private ownership and breeding of large carnivorous exotic and hybrid animals - presenting a danger to public health and safety while allowing inhumane treatment of these animals.
Call your state senator and ask them to OPPOSE SB 209 and 210!
